A man with a beard and wearing colorful paint-splattered pants is sitting cross-legged on a bench in an art gallery. The gallery has a large colorful abstract painting on the left and a white wall with numerous small framed artworks arranged in a grid behind him.

Tim Jaeger is a prominent Sarasota-based painter, curator, and educator who has been a cornerstone of the Florida Gulf Coast arts community for over two decades. Originally from Paducah, Kentucky, Jaeger moved to Sarasota in 1998 to attend Ringling College of Art and Design, where he graduated with a B.F.A. as a Trustee Scholar. He has since worked at the college for 17 years and currently serves as Director and Chief Curator of Galleries and Exhibitions, where he oversees nine on-campus galleries and teaches Exhibition Design and Management. Having curated nearly 200 exhibitions, Jaeger brings a depth of experience that is both expansive and impactful. A two-time Gold Winner for Curator of the Year by SRQ Magazine, he is also co-owner of the award-winning 502 Gallery in Sarasota’s Burns Court Historic District, further expanding his influence within the region’s contemporary art scene.

Jaeger’s artistic practice is defined by a dynamic, gestural style that bridges abstraction and representation, with vibrant paintings inspired by Florida’s coastal environment. His work explores themes of movement, energy, and interconnectedness, reflecting both natural systems and the cultural fabric of Sarasota. Beyond the studio, he is deeply committed to fostering the growth of artists and audiences alike—curating ambitious exhibitions, mentoring emerging talent, and cultivating new collectors. His dual perspective as both a practicing artist and arts administrator positions him as a leading voice on the evolving climate of the visual arts in Sarasota and the broader region. He is also the husband of artist and educator Cassia Kite-Jaeger and a proud father of two, grounding his professional work in a strong sense of family and community. For a detailed exhibition history, please refer to his resume.
